Tuber Sale Terms
Scout Hill Farm – Dahlia Tuber Policies
Please read carefully before purchasing. By placing an order with Scout Hill Farm, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the policies below. If you are not comfortable with these terms, please do not place an order.
These policies are in place to protect the integrity of our farm and ensure a fair, transparent experience for everyone.
All tubers are grown here at the farm in New Hampshire. These were all purchased from USA based farms that do not import. All of these have been grown by me minimally 1 season.
Shipping & Timing
-
Tubers ship in spring once the risk of hard freezes has passed, typically late March–April depending on weather.
-
We ship within the United States only.
-
Shipping is a flat-rate fee calculated at checkout.
-
Combine shipping automatic for additional orders (using same email address)
-
You will receive a shipping notification once your order has been packed and shipped.
Once your package is handed off to the carrier, Scout Hill Farm is not responsible for shipping delays, damage, or loss during transit.
Tuber Quality at Time of Shipping
-
All tubers are shipped with at least one visible eye and a firm, healthy tuber body.
-
Tubers are inspected prior to shipping, and we only send tubers we would be happy to receive ourselves.
-
Some varieties naturally produce small, oddly shaped, or imperfect-looking tubers—this does not impact viability. I try to indicate where tubers are small, have lenticles or slight shriveling. Look at the description for this information before purchasing a variety.
We take labeling and quality seriously and would never intentionally ship mislabeled, weak, or diseased tubers.
Inspection & Issue Claims
-
Please inspect your tubers immediately upon delivery.
-
Any concerns regarding missing eyes, severe damage, or shipping-related issues must be reported within 48 hours of delivery (as marked by the carrier).
-
To be considered, claims must include clear photos and a written description.
Claims submitted after this window cannot be reviewed.
Mislabels
-
While rare, mislabels can occasionally happen.
-
If you believe a tuber is mislabeled, please contact us at bloom time with photos, and we will work with you to make it right.
Virus & Disease Disclaimer
-
Scout Hill Farm follows standard sanitation practices and aggressively culls any plants showing signs of disease.
-
Tools are sanitized between dividing varieties and fields are monitored throughout the season.
-
That said, viruses can exist without visible symptoms, and the only way to guarantee virus-free stock is individual lab testing, which is not performed.
By purchasing, you acknowledge and accept this inherent risk. If you are not comfortable with this, please do not purchase tubers.
Refunds, Replacements & Substitutions
-
Refunds or replacements are not guaranteed and are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
-
We do not offer replacements due to logistical constraints.
-
If a tuber becomes unavailable before shipping due to storage loss, you will be refunded for that item.
-
We do not offer substitutions.
-
I try to sell conservatively so this doesnt happen, but nature takes things out of my control.
We do not refund for:
-
Virus or disease
-
Rot or failure after planting
-
Weather-related damage
-
Improper storage, planting, or growing conditions
-
Issues reported outside the inspection window
Customer Responsibility
-
You are responsible for tracking your shipment and bringing it indoors promptly upon delivery.
-
Scout Hill Farm is not responsible for damage caused by temperature exposure after delivery.
-
Please ensure your shipping address and email are correct at checkout.
